Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have worked together on films like Superbad, The Interview, and Pineapple Express. Now the duo is embarking on a different type of project: a marijuana company.

“Houseplant is a passion we’ve brought to life through drive and dedication,” said Seth Rogen, Co-Founder of Houseplant.  “Every decision we’ve made for the business reflects the years of education, first-hand experience and respect we have for cannabis.”

Based in Canada, the home country of both men, the brand’s first product is experienced to be called Houseplant Sativa and will be available in early April in British Columbia and surrounding areas. Afterward it plans to launch Houseplant Hybrid and Houseplant Indica, eventually followed by pre-rolled joints and gels. The cannabis it sells will come from Canada’s Canopy Growth, which also has a minority stake in the company.

“Houseplant represents years of product expertise and unmatched attention to detail within each strain that has been carefully selected and grown,” Canopy Growth said in a statement.“Commitment to cannabis quality begins with selecting the best genetics and doesn’t stop until the customer opens the jar. Canopy Growth has witnessed how carefully Houseplant has chosen each component of their offering to deliver the highest quality product to Canadians.”

Rogen and Goldberg are fan from the first celebrities to join the cannabis space. Most recently, CJ Wallace, son of the Notorious B.I.G announced he was getting into cannabis with the launch of his brand Think Big, honoring his father.

In February both Martha Stewart and Willie Nelson also announced the launch of their own CBD brands. Like Rogen and Goldberg, Stewart is working with Canopy Growth on her line.

“I am delighted to establish this partnership with Canopy Growth and share with them the knowledge I have gained after years of experience in the subject of living,”  Stewart said in a statement. “I’m especially looking forward to our first collaboration together, which will offer sensible products for people’s beloved pets.”

Martha’s favorite pot luck guest Snoop Dogg also has his own CBD line in the works through Canopy Growth. Called “Leafs by Snoop” his line is expected to be made specifically to treat anxiety in pets.

Canopy Growth is a leading cannabis company in Canada but the company does not currently sell any products in the United States.

The company’s stock is currently traded on the New York Stock Exchange as well as the Toronto Stock Exchange. The NY stock exchange, in particular, does not allow companies traded on it from engaging in an enterprise that’s illegal on a federal level, which marijuana currently is in the United States.

Last year the company received a late influx for cash from Constellation Brands, the parent company of a number of well-known alcohol brands including Ballast Point Brewing and Corona.

Antipsychotic medications are important for managing a number of different psychiatric ailments, including bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, and even dementia. These drugs can greatly improve the manageability of symptoms that often distort one’s experience of reality. They can also create major mood disruptions and lead to a number of behavioral and emotional difficulties. Antipsychotic and anti-psychosis medications can be life-changing for people with such disorders, enabling them to live more normal and manageable lives without their symptoms taking over. These drugs work by regulating neurotransmitters in the brain so that naturally occurring imbalances and dysfunctions no longer disrupt mental and emotional processes. Often, reaching this outcome is much easier said than done; it can take a lot of time to find courses and combinations of treatments that work. It’s sometimes necessary to make adjustments to find the right balance for the individual and it’s not unusual for outc...

A Dozen US Governors Ask Congressional Leaders To Back Federal Marijuana Reform

A bipartisan coalition of 12 governors from states that have legalized medical or recreational cannabis  sent a letter to congressional leaders, asking for their support in getting a major marijuana reform bill through the U.S. House and Senate. The governors of California, Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont and Washington state are backing  the STATES Act  – which would codify in federal law that marijuana regulations are to be left to the states instead of the federal government – while also seeking protections on banking and tax issues for the MJ industry. “The STATES Act is not about whether marijuana should be legal or illegal; it is about respecting the authority of states to act, lead and respond to the evolving needs and attitudes of their citizens,” the governors wrote. The letter also expressed support for the SAFE Banking Act , which was approved in March by a House committee. Tha...
